The Promise That Started It All

At a time when many people are thinking about the health and resilience of forests, the importance of long-term restoration efforts has never felt more tangible. We started Forests for the Future™ in 2012 with a simple belief: that small actions can help create lasting change. For every product sold, we committed to planting a tree, creating a way for our customers to participate in restoration efforts worldwide. 

For us, supporting restoration has always been woven into our story and this value has long guided us at Eminence Organic Skin Care. Grounded in Hungarian heritage, we have long believed that healthy skin starts from ingredients that are thoughtfully grown and harvested from the earth. As a B Corp™, we strongly believe that to support people, we need to support the natural systems upon which we rely and giving back through our planting program is one way we do that.

Expanding Our Restoration Efforts

We began our planting journey through a partnership with the UN World Restoration Flagship, Trees for the Future (TREES), planting over 28 million trees across Kenya, Uganda, Senegal, Mali and Tanzania, helping over 6,300 farmers on their own land and in their communities. These farmers play a vital role in the Forest Garden Approach, helping restore degraded soil, strengthen food security and mitigate the impacts of climate change.

In 2025, we partnered with veritree, further increasing our scope through new restoration projects worldwide. From a continuation of agroforestry in Senegal and Haiti to new ventures such as kelp reforestation, mangrove projects and wildfire recovery, we believe that trees and plants play a vital role in restoring our planet and that collective action creates lasting impact.

With every product purchased at Eminence Organics, we plant a tree. Simple yet powerful. With this program, we have reached more than 33 million trees together with our Spa Partners and customers, showcasing why working together helps rebuild what is lost. With veritree, we have increased our transparency, allowing us to see the impact of our work together every day. 

We don’t just plant – we come back. Monitoring the impact of our restoration projects helps us understand the long-term impact of our work, both for local ecosystems and the communities that depend on them.

Every Purchase Became Part of Something Larger

Forests for the Future™ was built on a simple idea: every product purchased plants a tree.

What began as a single tree with each purchase has grown into a global restoration effort spanning forests, coastlines, farms, oceans and communities. Along the way, millions of Spa Partners and customers have become part of something much larger than a purchase.

Together, these individual actions have added up to 33 million trees and restoration projects worldwide.

Helping Forests Recover

We also deepened our commitment to forest recovery. Through projects in British Columbia, Florida and California, we have supported reforestation efforts in areas affected by wildfire. This includes over 23,000 trees already planted in areas impacted by severe fire damage. While recovery takes time, restoration helps rebuild habitats, support biodiversity and create the conditions for long-term ecosystem resilience.

Growing Beyond Tree Planting

As we expanded our restoration efforts, we also broadened our understanding of what restoration can look like. While forests remain central to our work, healthy ecosystems extend beyond the land, connecting oceans, shorelines and communities around the world.

Forests Under the Sea

In 2024, we headed under the sea to help restore our ocean ecosystems to the tune of over 6.4 million square feet in the Pacific Ocean. Kelp forests act as vital carbon sinks, absorbing large amounts of CO2, which help to mitigate the effects of ocean acidification and support marine ecosystems by providing shelter, breeding grounds and food sources. By working with local communities and Indigenous partners to plant over 1.4 million kelp, roughly the weight of 162 baby humpback whales, and over 900,000 kelp allocated to future restoration, we work where we are needed, while respecting the deep cultural and ecological significance of kelp forests have in the Pacific Northwest.

Where Land Meets the Sea

Another expansion of our Forests for the Future™ program we are excited about is mangroves, where we have worked with communities in Brazil and Africa. Mangroves are found coastally and are the only trees that thrive in salty waters and help improve water quality by filtering out nutrients and sediments. They also sustain biodiversity with more than 1,500 plant and animal species that depend on them. Research also indicates that mangroves are critical for larger mammals such as monkeys, sloths, and tigers. We have supported over 1 million mangroves since 2025, with planting projects in Maranhão, Brazil and in Mozambique, Tanzania and Kenya. Through these projects, we help strengthen food diversity, rebuild vital fishing grounds and protect coastlines against erosion and climate change effects. 

Restoring Reefs 

In 2025, we supported coral restoration in Florida through our work with I.CARE, an organization dedicated to restoring the reefs of Islamorada and the Florida Keys by engaging local businesses, residents and visitors in coral reef restoration efforts. With a community-first approach, their activities include coral transplanting, marine debris clean-ups and reef monitoring. Coral reefs are some of the most diverse ecosystems on earth and are home to over 4,000 species of fish, corals and other marine life. They cover just 1% of the ocean, but provide habitats for at least 25% of marine life, with many reef species still to be discovered. They play an important role, providing food, supporting jobs through tourism and recreation, and are key to finding new medicines.  

What 33 Million Trees Really Represents

A milestone like 33 million is easy to measure. The impact behind it is much harder to capture. 

This milestone belongs to everyone who helped make it possible: our customers, Spa Partners, restoration partners such as veritree, TREES and I.CARE, Team Members and the communities leading restoration efforts on the ground.

Most importantly, it represents what can happen when people choose to contribute to a shared goal. Together, one tree has grown into 33 million and counting, demonstrating what collective action can achieve.

Looking Ahead 

Restoration is measured not only in trees planted, but in ecosystems that continue to grow, recover and thrive long after planting day.

While 33 million trees marks an important milestone, it is not an endpoint. We remain committed to supporting restoration projects that strengthen ecosystems, support communities and contribute to a healthier future.
