5 No-Fail Wedding Beauty Tips

Blue skies, warm breezes and the scent of flowers in full bloom . . . These three things can only mean one thing: summer is on its way. Summer is also an indication that another kind of season is quickly approaching … wedding season!

If you’re a blushing bride-to-be, a member of the bridal party or an eager wedding guest - you all deserve to look your best on that special day of matrimonial bliss.

To help your skin transition beautifully into the season ahead, we have five wedding beauty tips to keep your skin looking “happily ever after”:

1. Keep breakouts at bay:

Nobody wants an unwanted guest on their wedding day, especially one that pops up on your face.

To keep your skin clear, radiant and blemish-free, The Knot recommends our Clear Skin Willow Bark Booster-Serum: "You want a treatment that calms inflammation and heals the skin quickly," says Joanna Vargas, celebrity facialist and founder of Joanna Vargas Salon

2. Calm inflammation & ease wedding day jitters:

The best way to truly enjoy wedding festivities is to keep calm - easier said than done, right? Anxiety and tension can show on your face and have a negative effect on the look of your skin, especially for more sensitive and reactive skin types.

Inflammation is the cause of many skin conditions and disorders, so keeping the skin cool and calm is fundamental in reducing red, blotchy patches as well as the effects of aging,” says celebrity facialist Cherry Woods in an interview with Wedding Ideas Magazine.

To keep your skin looking calm, we would recommend the Hawthorn Tonique, a gentle formula consiting of hawthorn, chamomile and marjoram to reduce the appearance of skin irritation.

To help bring your body and mind into a deeper state of pre-wedding zen, Wedding Ideas Magazine also suggests making “lifestlye changes to reduce inflammation, starting with reducing your caffeine and alcohol intake.”

3. Reduce puffiness around the eyes:

We know this is cliché – but “beauty sleep” is vital when it comes to looking your best. Even after a few nights of missed sleep, your skin will start to look sallow with increased puffiness around the eye area. Over time, chronic sleep loss can lead to lackluster skin, fine lines and dark circles under the eyes.

To combat the look of tired, puffy eyes, we recommend our Hibiscus Ultra Lift Eye Cream. This eye treatment helps to reduce the look of puffiness around the eye area and it contains an Advanced Instant Lift fX eye treatment that improves the look of wrinkles and fine lines.

4. Protect your Skin with SPF:

When it comes to summer weddings - there’s no escape from harmful UV rays. Even on a cloudy day - ultraviolet light can still do damage to your skin. Most unprotected skin types can burn in minutes, especially when the UV Index Scale is high (HowStuffWorks).

For bronzing, foundation and SPF protection all-in-one, Madelyn Chung, Style Editor for Huffington Post Canada recommends our Sun Defense Minerals

“This natural mineral powder is a great way for touch-ups throughout the day, especially if you're wearing makeup. It's hypoallergenic, non-pore clogging and works well to calm red or blotchy skin. Bonus: It also doubles as a bronzer”.

5. Give Yourself Kissable Lips:

And last but not least, what about that perfect wedding day pucker? For the brides out there - you want your first kiss as a married couple to be a memorable one.

For soft, supple lips, The Fabulous Report recommends our Citrus Lip Balm with its "touch of peppermint oil that produces an ever so slight tingly sensation when applied. Sunflower seed oil, which is rich in vitamins, promotes a supple look and feel on the pout.”

For extra hydration and a pop of color, our Organic Kiss Lip Gloss can do the trick. This antioxidant-rich lip gloss is available in three different colors (Strawberry Kiss, Plum Kiss & Spice Kiss) and can be layered on top of our Citrus Lip Balm for extra-soft, extra-kissable lips!
