Never underestimate the relaxation a manicure can bring. Massaging pressure points in the hands and soothing dry, irritated skin will leave anyone feeling like a whole new person. While shooting the cover of C California Magazine this April, Dakota Fanning was treated to a luxury manicure featuring Eminence Organics. To fully envelop your senses and relax your mind, follow our celebrity inspired DIY manicure featuring the new Eminence Organics Wildflower Collection and products used by Dakota Fanning.
Dakota Fanning Graces Cover of C California Style Magazine
Dakota Fanning looked stunning for her cover shoot, and her hands were no exception. Celebrity manicurist Emi Kudo massaged Dakota’s hands with Eminence Organics Coconut Firming Body Lotion and followed with a beautiful nude and gold nail polish. We love that not only has Dakota experienced Eminence Organic Skin Care, but has fallen also in love with our home of Budapest, Hungary. Dakota shared that while in Budapest filming The Alienist, she “wholeheartedly embraced her Hungarian sojourn— [including] the spa culture.” You can next see Dakota in the feature film Ocean's 8 coming out on June 8.
To get Dakota’s cover look, we’ve put together a DIY manicure featuring our gorgeous new Wildflower Collection. Not only will this routine leave your hands silky smooth, the delicate aroma from Hungarian wildflower botanical oils will leave you relaxed and rejuvenated.
Step 1: Massage And Cleanse
To begin your at home manicure, gently massage and cleanse hands with a quarter sized amount of our Wildflower Cleansing Balm. This transformative balm will melt into an oil to massage into the pressure points of your hands, including:
- Your fingertips
- The base of your palm
- The space between your thumb and fingers
- Along the bones of your hands
Massage for one to two minutes, or as long as you like!
Step 2: Exfoliate And Smooth
With the balm still on your hands as an oil, apply a quarter sized amount of your favorite Eminence Organics Sugar Scrub. Our sugar scrubs work perfectly to remove dead skin cells and replenish moisture. We recommend the Coconut Sugar Scrub, as the warm scent of fresh cracked coconuts wonderfully complements the aroma of sunny Hungarian wildflowers. For one to two minutes, gently scrub your hands, getting into every nook and working the beneficial oils into the skin. Rinse hands under warm water. The cleansing balm will transform into a purifying milk, whisking away any sugar granules. Cleanse further with an additional dime sized amount of balm if desired. Gently pat hands dry.
Step 3: Nourish Cuticles
Apply one to two pumps of our Wildflower Ultralight Oil to the palms of your hands. Gently warm the oil by rubbing your palms together, inhaling the relaxing scent. Work the warmed oils into the cuticles and nail beds to soften and hydrate.
Step 4: Lock In Hydration
To lock in the benefits of the previous products, apply one pump of Coconut Firming Body Lotion to the palms of your hands. Much like how Emi Kudo used the lotion for Dakota Fanning’s manicure, warm the lotion in your palms and gently massage all over the hands until product is absorbed.
Step 5: Prime And Polish
To add the ultimate celebrity step to your DIY manicure, complete the look with a luxury polish as Dakota did. Some of our favorite vegan, 5-free nail polishes include Sundays, Zoya and LVX. To begin, clean the nail of any remaining oils with a cotton round saturated with vegan nail polish remover. To ensure your polish lasts, first apply a thin layer of base coat and allow to dry. Once dry, paint a thin layer of polish ensuring it does not overlap onto the skin. Once this coat has dried, apply a second coat of polish “wrapping” the free edge of your nail to prevent chipping. When this coat has dried, finish with a quick-dry topcoat.
When your polish is completely dry, we recommend re-oiling with Wildflower Ultralight Oil to keep your cuticles happy and healthy.
