It’s no secret that Eminence Organics loves the planet. We plant a tree for every product sold, use recycled and recyclable packaging, and our Certified Organic Farm relies on traditional farming practices that heal the earth. Since 1958, we have turned to eco friendly solutions that are good for Planet Earth and good for us. We’ve even spread the love to our partner spas with our Green Spa Program. For spas that fulfill our environmental requirements, we certify them as Eminence Green Spas and welcome them to join forces with us in the green movement!

What does it take to run a spa that’s environmentally-friendly and sustainable? We interviewed two Eminence authorized spas that belong to our Green Spa Program: By The Sea Day Spa in Branford, Connecticut and The Spa at RiverStone in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Delighted by the incredible commitment shown by both spas to green their operations, we were very excited to find out more. Read on to learn more about these ecofriendly spas:

WHAT ARE A FEW THINGS THAT YOU DO TO BE ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY?
We always recycle and reuse Eminence product containers, we donate old sheets and towels to animal shelters, we use all LED light bulbs, green cleaning supplies and only organic and naturally derived products in the spa.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU DO THAT’S DIFFERENT FROM THE AVERAGE SPA?
We take this initiative out into our community! For example, we’ve been involved in the Earth Day 5K Run, litter pick-up and planting trees at local schools.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO WORK WITH SKIN CARE PRODUCTS THAT ARE GOOD FOR THE PLANET?
I want our environment to be clean and healthy not only for this generation, but for future generations as well. A clean planet means a healthier environment for us to live in…better for our health. Our clients LOVE Eminence and everything it stands for. They like to see how many trees we have planted…I think the Forests for the Future™ initiative really impacts them.

WHAT ARE THREE THINGS YOUR SPA DOES TO BE ECO FRIENDLY?
These are the top three things that make the biggest impact within our spa: We limit the robes and wraps to guests having more than 1 body treatment. Being a high-volume spa, this one practice cuts down tremendously on water and electricity, as well as the life-span of our linens. We use exclusively recycled shopping bags and tissue. We have quite a large gift shop and these recycled paper goods add up to a massive amount of paper. And lastly, our Stash Organic Teas that we offer to our guests are all fair trade. We feel good providing a quality organic tea selection that is globally friendly to our co-tenants of our planet.
HOW DOES BEING GREEN MAKE YOU DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SPAS?
This green approach is different from not just other spas, but other businesses in general. Not enough companies take the time or effort to make small changes that add up to big change. It’s an attitude that we hope our guests and staff take home with them to create bigger change for all of us.
