Q&A with Boldijarre, ISPA Visionary 2015

It's one of company President Boldijarre Koronczay's favorite quotes: "Reach for the stars, but keep your feet on the ground." And it's a quote that he always lives by! As he gets ready to receive the prestigious ISPA Visionary Award next week, he took some time out to go back to basics and answer your questions personally in our latest Q&A.

Here are Boldijarre's answers to your best questions on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn:

Colleen C. asks: What is your ultimate #1 favorite masque in Éminence history?

Colleen, what a tough question!  As you can imagine, I have lots of products that I love, but picking one favorite masque was quite a challenge. But… I’d have to say… my favorite masque is… drumroll please… the Clear Skin Probiotic Masque! This masque has a very unique cooling effect to reduce the appearance of oiliness and calms the look of skin. Also, the unique combination of probiotics and natural ingredients work effectively to treat problem skin without drying.

Mikayla F. asks: I'm curious to know how many products you can layer at a time and still ensure they're working at their full potential? My problem is that I want to use every product I have every day.

First of all, Mikayla, let me thank you for your loyalty and support. Because of you and other Éminence superfans, we are able to share the message that natural skin care works! About your product layering, keep in mind that the skin is a living organ and it lives, breathes and absorbs nutrition. Consider this: a healthy meal plan with lots of different fruits and vegetables is preferred by the body, so you want to make sure that you don't eat the same thing every day. In the same way, go ahead and alternate your product routine. For example, use the Clear Skin Willow Bark Booster-Serum every other day and the Strawberry Rhubarb Hyaluronic Serum on the alternate days.  Every product will offer a different range of nutrients and vitamins to the skin.

By changing up the products, you also prevent a chance that the skin could “plateau” and become immune to some ingredients …  just like your body could plateau from doing the same workout every single day. I say, switch it up! Variety is the spice of life.

Caroline A. asks: I would love to know the differences between serums, booster-serums and concentrates.  Since serums generally penetrate to deeper layers of the skin, what makes each of the three different and how do you choose between them? Thank you for your wonderful care in your products.

Caroline, thank YOU for your wonderful care with your great question! Here’s the short answer…

•    A serum is the “mildest” form of these three products – although keep in mind that, yes, serums are especially effective because they penetrate deeply into the skin (you are “spot” on about this! Pun intended).

•    A booster-serum is an “extra strength” version of a serum. Think of these products like the iPhone 5 and iPhone 6. The iPhone 5 is still a great phone, but iPhone 6 has more bells and whistles. You can also use the booster-serums to spot treat specific areas (like the Bright Skin Licorice Root Booster-Serum for a spot of hyperpigmentation).

•    A concentrate contains active products designed to be used all over the face under the moisturizer.

Laura O. asks: I am a 45 year old female with fairly clear skin. I occasionally will get a pimple on my chin area and have a couple blackheads in that area. I recently bought the Clear Skin line and although I love it, it didn't clear up blackheads. Any ideas?

Hi Laura, love that you love the Clear Skin Collection!

A little bit of skin biology to start: Blackheads are the results of oil congestion in pores. The oil closest to the surface of the skin gets oxidized and turns dark. This oil is produced by all pores. Everybody (myself included!) has blackheads to some extent. Some blackheads are more visible due to larger pore sizes. In order to reduce blackheads, I suggest consistent exfoliation and regular facial treatments with an Éminence-trained esthetician at one of our spas. These licensed, trained professionals can safely perform extractions for those more visible blackheads.

And that occasional problem skin on your chin? Try our Eight Greens Phyto Masque designed specifically for problem skin especially in that area. And one more thing, in order to reduce the skin’s oil production, keep your masques and moisturizers in the fridge. Applying products directly from the refrigerator will keep your skin temperature lower, thereby reducing excess oil production.

Lina N. asks: I'm looking for a body product that I can use right after I shower before I dry myself off. I'm currently undergoing chemo and my skin is DRY.

Lina, thank you so much for sharing your question. I hope your treatment is going well and you are feeling great today.

To help your skin stay moisturized, I would recommend hydrating with our Stone Crop Body Lotion. Stone crop is a plant with lots of healing, soothing, calming and deeply hydrating characteristics. Throughout history, the stone crop plant has been used for burns, cuts and any kind of skin abrasions. Be sure to check out our latest blog post from another Éminence fan about her skin care experience during cancer treatment too. On behalf of everyone at Éminence, we wish you a full and quick recovery.

Thanks again, everyone!

Hugs,
Boldijarre
